Introducing Sabrina

Hello everyone, and happy Tuesday! Rather, HAPPY SUMMER!

…okay, so depending on your age, location, and definition of “summer,” the year’s hottest and most exciting season might not be upon you quite yet.

However, as a college student, I’m happy to announce that I just recently finished an incredibly successful freshman year. Before I get too ahead of myself, though, I think I should introduce myself.

My name is Sabrina. I’m 18-years-old and live in upstate New York (and no, it’s not that close to the Big Apple, if you’re curious). I became a Nerdfighter in 2010 when my then boyfriend introduced me to the community. That relationship didn’t last, by the way, but luckily my relationship with Nerdfighteria continues to grow strong.

I started a Tumblr blog in the summer of 2011 called Signs You’re a Nerdfighter, and created my own personal blog, sabrinamarceline, soon afterwards. I’ve grown to deeply care for many people on Tumblr and plan on visiting with all of them during VidCon 2012.

My majors are international relations and film production, and though I attend a local college, I intend on transferring this coming semester. I’d tell you what I want to do with my life, but I’m still trying to find the perfect niche for myself. The truth is, I don’t know exactly what I’ll be doing for most of this summer, let alone for the rest of my life. One of the reasons the Vlogbrothers and many other Nerdfighters inspire me is because they created their own paths. Jobs like “Internet vlogger” didn’t really exist ten years ago.

I believe that every task I take on is an extension of my self-curated “destiny,” and that includes writing for DFTBA News with some of my favorite people. Who knows? Maybe it’ll lead to more writing on my part? Only time (and plenty of work) will tell.

As someone with a wide array of interests, I hope that you, the readers, will tell us what you want to read. I’d be happy to collect the scoop on whatever awesome (or notsome) things are going on in the world.

Until next time,
