Robert Kennedy Jr.’s Wife Found Dead

The second wife of Robert Kennedy, Mary Kennedy, was found dead in her home. In Bedford, New York at around 1:30 in the afternoon, Mary Kennedy’s body was found. She had hung herself. Mary was known to have problems with alcohol, according to news reports. She was only 52 years old.

Mary has been referred to as Robert’s “estranged” wife. They were married for 16 years before the divorce was filed by Robert in 2010. To be exact, May 12, 2010. Three days after Robert had filed, Mary was charged with drunk driving. That means exactly 2 years ago, as of yesterday, Mary had had endangered her life to drunk driving. Whether the divorce is related to this incident, is still unknown. Mary and Robert had four children: Conor, Kyra. William, and Aiden. Needless to say many good vibes, prayers, well wishes need be sent there way.

Robert Kennedy is an activist and radio host. He specializes in environmental law as an attorney.

My own personal commentary:

This is by far not awesome news. But there are a few points to be made with this article. No matter where you stand financially, politically, or socially, there can always be a dark side. I want to take this article to say that it is important to focus on thriving as an individual. However, it is also important to set yourself up for success in a relationship and future goals. I don’t want to ramble on about the success rate of marriages. I just want to bring it to light, so that others might evaluate what they want out of both life and a partner. Moreover, it is a terrible situation that has fallen upon the Kennedy family. And they are not alone in dealing with the suicide of a loved one. For those who have lost or in fear of a loss, take a moment to contemplate your interactions with others and your own life’s focus.
